Current works

Completion timeframes of current works listed below are subject to weather conditions.

We will make every effort to minimise disruptions to traffic, parking and pedestrians during work times.

To help work run as smoothly as possible, we ask pedestrians and motorists to follow any signage and traffic control measures.

Road works

Bodalla, Eurobodalla Road

Work: Road safety improvements affecting approximately 3.4km of Eurobodalla Road, starting from 600 metres west of the Princes Highway.

Timeframe: 20 November 2017 to 30 March 2018.

Some vegetation will be removed to provide wider clear zones along the road and we will be establishing wider, sealed roadside shoulders. We will also be installing a number of roadside safety barriers and adjusting stormwater drainage as necessary.

Traffic control will be in place between 7am and 6pm on week days during the works and minor delays should be expected. Works will stop for a number of weeks over the Christmas holiday period.

Bodalla, Tyrone Bridge

Work: Replace the existing timber bridge with an 86m single lane concrete bridge.

Timeframe: 14 July 2017 to June 2018.

Tyrone Bridge is on Nerrigundah Mountain Road just west of the intersection with Eurobodalla Road, approximately 9km west of Bodalla. The new bridge is being built adjacent to the existing bridge (downstream) and traffic will be able to continue using the existing bridge throughout the construction process.

Catalina, George Bass Drive and Glenella Road

Work: Construction of a roundabout on George Bass Drive at Glenella Road intersection.

Timeframe:   January to June 2018

Glenella Road will be closed between the intersections of George Bass Drive and Curtis Road.  Detours are via Curtis Road and Crosby Drive.

Motorists will experience travel delays due to land closures on George Bass Drive and will be diverted onto gravel access tracks.  There will be brief periods of stop/slow traffic control and night works.

These works are part of the major project constructing the South Batemans Bay link road joining George Bass Drive with the Princes Highway.

Moruya, Showground car park

Work: Reconstruction of the existing car park and upgrades to stormwater infrastructure.

Timeframe: 29 January to 27 April 2018

During certain phases of the construction period, sections of the Showground car park will be closed to all traffic. Provisions will be put in place to cater for those who use the Showground facilities, or require access to the golf course and Moruya Township via Albert Street.

Runnyford, Runnyford Bridge

Work: Replacing the existing bridge with a similar structure.

Timeframe: 20 March 2017 to 30 March 2018

Runnyford Road will be closed from the western side of Runnyford Bridge to Mays Road while we demolish and replace the bridge.

There will be no access across the Buckenbowra River for the duration of the work.

Moruya, Bergalia Street

Work: Construction of a new 2.5m wide shared pathway on the northern side of Bergalia Street between John Street and Haslingdon Street.  The work includes installing kerb and guttering.

Motorists will experience minor delays due to closure of one lane of traffic.  Residents will have access to their properties.

This work is partially funded by a Roads and Maritime Services grant and is an extension of the new shared pathway project recently completed in John Street.

Timeframe: 5 February 2018 to 30 March 2018.

Moruya, Yarragee Road

Work: Reconstruction of Yarragee Road from the intersection of Araluen Road heading west for approx 1.6km.  The work involves widening of the road, provision of clear zones that involves vegetation clearing and the installation of guard rails at crash locations.  New curve warning signs and speed zone signs will also be installed.

This project is fully funded by the Australian government's Blackspot Program.

There will be minor disruptions to traffic on weekdays from 6.30am to 6.00pm.

Timeframe: 6 February 2018 to 13 April 2018.

Moruya, Wamban Road

Work: Reconstruction of road surface between the sealed section on the western side of Wamban Creek bridge to the west of the intersection with Donalds Creek (approx 1.4km).  Roadside vegetation will be necessary in parts to allow for clear zones and drainage will be upgraded where necessary.

The work site will be under traffic control during weekdays from 6.30am to 6.00pm.  Motorists will experience short delays.

Timeframe: 5 February 2018 to 31 May 2018.

Batehaven, Corrigans Beach Reserve Car Park

Work: Stage 2 of the upgrade to car parking at Corrigans Beach Reserve.  The parking area between the reserve and the caravan park will be closed to allow for new kerb and guttering, drainage improvements, landscaping and a new road surface.

The section closed is accessed at the Beach Road/Edward Road traffic lights.  Alternative car parking is available in the car park located opposite the shops in Beach Road (adjacent to playground) and the road located in the middle of the reserve that takes motorists to the new beach front parking area.

Timeframe: 7 February 2018 to 7 March 2018.

Long Beach, Cullendulla Drive

Work: The culvert will be widened and the road surface will be strengthened along Cullendulla Drive from the intersection with the Princes Highway heading east for 200m.

Motorists will experience delays as the road will be reduced to one lane of traffic.

This project is funded by State government's Fixing Country Roads program.

Timeframe: 29 January 2018 to 4 May 2018.

Mogo, Tomakin Road

Work: Widening to achieve a sealed 2m wide road shoulder on both sides of the road.  A bend will be upgraded and guardrail will be installed.  The provision of clear zones will require minor tree removal in some areas.  The work also involves kerb installation and earthworks to widen the batter.  Raised pavement markers, centre and edge linemarking, and new signage will complete the road safety improvements.

The section of Tomakin Road to be upgraded commences approx 300m west of the intersection with Dunns Creek Road and will extend for approx 300m in a westerly direction.

Traffic control measures will be in place and motorists will experience minor delays.

This project is funded by the Australian Government's Blackspot Program.

Timeframe: 5 March 2018 to 27 April 2018, weather permitting.

Hanging Rock, Library Car Park

Work: The car park adjacent to Batemans Bay Library at Hanging Rock is being upgraded.

Access to the car park will be restricted at various times during the works and traffic control will be in place. Users will notice throughout the construction period part of the car park will be closed. While the car park may continue to be used in a reduced capacity there will be short periods where it will be closed completely.

In the event the car park is completely closed, users will be required to park along Hanging Rock Place.  Pedestrian access will continue to be available at all times and any road closures will be signposted.
