Current works

Completion timeframes of current works are subject to weather conditions.

We will make every effort to minimise disruptions to traffic, parking and pedestrians during work times.

To help work run as smoothly as possible, we ask pedestrians and motorists to follow any signage and traffic control measures.

Shire-wide, rural roads and Kings Highway

Work: Spraying weeds along sealed rural roadsides around Eurobodalla and along the Kings Highway with the herbicides Brush-Off and Roundup.

Timeframe: 28 August to 29 September 2017

This maintenance is to reduce the risk of new or regrowth of weeds, shrubs and trees close to the road that could potentially damage the road pavements. Motorists are requested to take care around the slow moving vehicles doing the spraying.

Batemans Bay Streetscaping Stage 2 (Orient Street)

Work: Stage 2 of the streetscaping works along Orient Street, from Beach Road to North Street.

Timeframe: 26 April 2017 to September 2017.

These works include replacing kerb and guttering, repaving of the footpath starting from the intersection with Beach Road and upgrading of water mains.

We will also be landscaping; installing new street trees with fairy lights, groundcovers and decorative totems.

Lane closures will likely cause traffic delays and loss of parking spaces in Orient Street. Motorists in Orient Street Batemans Bay should look out for changed road conditions from Friday 16 June when the new raised pedestrian crossing opens to traffic.

Works may be performed on weekends, early mornings and at night. Access to sections of footpath will be restricted while works are underway.

Intermittent traffic control will be in place on Glenella Road to allow for the movement of trucks and road plant. For worker safety we have installed water-filled barriers along George Bass Drive.

Glenella Road will be closed between George Bass Drive and Curtis Road during school hours (between the last school bus pick up in the morning and first drop off in the afternoon) to enable movement of heavy vehicles in the area.

Narooma, Narooma Flat

Work: Water mains renewals throughout the Narooma Flat area.

Timeframe: 26 June to 4 December 2017

The water main renewals will take place on Burrawang Street, Graham Street, Field Street, Barker Parade,  Lynch Street, Brice Street, Hyland Avenue, Riverside Drive and McMillan Road.

The work involves digging a trench adjacent to the existing water main, laying new pipe and installing the residential service connections.

Most of the work will take place on the nature strip or road shoulder, but the work will cause some disturbance to driveways and landscaping. Council’s work crews will rectify any impacts as construction proceeds.

All efforts will be made to limit disturbance on residents, but there will be instances where water supply will be turned off to enable commissioning of the new water main. During this time residents may have low water pressure or no water supply. Directly affected residents will be notified by letter of any supply outages.
